Ready for a visit to our Koala & Wildlife Park but not sure what to expect? Here’s some tips!
Wear comfortable shoes
You’re going to be wandering around visiting all of the animals, so it’s good to wear comfy shoes. No one wants blisters! Some of the paths in the park are up/down slight hills, so we wouldn’t recommend heels. It also means you can wander on the grass without getting stuck!
Get some kangaroo food
There’s kangaroos and wallabies everywhere, and we can assure you, you’re going to want to pat them. It’s some kind of unwritten law.
Don’t forget to grab a bag of roo food from the Ticket Office – they’re only $2 and it means you’ll make some instant best friends with the kangaroos and wallabies!
Bring a hat
We’re in Tropical North Queensland, and it gets sunny. Even in winter, the sun is out so it’s always a good idea to have a hat!
Be patient
Our wildlife are … wild … so they’re always going to do what they want. Sometimes that means sleeping, other times that means hiding in the back of their enclosure! If the animal isn’t immediately visible, don’t panic – keep wandering around the park, and just make sure you come back to see them before you go!
Bring a camera! (or your phone)
There are photo opportunities everywhere. From cute koalas to scary crocodiles, you’ll want to take photos of everything! Make sure you have a camera, or at least your phone, so you can record it all.
Perfect your selfie game
#kangarooselfie anyone?
Our kangaroos and wallabies are pretty much experts at the selfie, so you’ll need to lift your game if you want to get one with them!
