Cairns School Programs
Rainforestation Nature Park offers a range of Cairns school programs and Cairns school excursions encompassing Indigenous culture, Australian wildlife and our Army Duck Rainforest Tour.
All school excursion programs can be customised to suit the current Australian Curriculum Achievement Standard and can be moulded to be suitable for different abilities and age groups.
Our All Australian Experience includes a 45 minute Army Duck Tour on which children can learn about various rainforest flora and fauna. Your class can enjoy a cultural experience on the Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience. View indigenous dances at the Pamagirri Dance Show and embrace Indigenous culture on the Dreamtime Walk. Children will watch a didgeridoo and spear throwing presentation and will learn to throw a boomerang themselves! Students can get up close to a plethora of Native Australia animals on a 30 minute interactive wildlife tour, including tree kangaroos, Tasmanian Devils, snakes and koalas.
We also offer solely indigenous experiences so that students can experience Indigenous culture in an authentic setting in the midst of World Heritage Rainforest. Students join a Pamagirri Aboriginal Guide as he shares a personal insight into his culture on the Pamagirri Rainforest Walkabout. They will learn about traditional customs including totems, body painting and rainforest survival.
Please note: the rates apply to local Cairns, Port Douglas and Atherton Tablelands region schools only. For schools in other regions, please contact us for rates.
