With wildlife, Indigenous culture and rainforest, Rainforestation Nature Park offers a range of Cairns group activities and team building options.

A visit to Rainforestation Nature Park is a rewarding, informative and entertaining “hands-on” educational experience for groups of all ages and nationalities.

As well as offering fun Cairns group activities, Rainforestation promotes awareness and appreciation for Australian Culture, Wildlife and our stunning local rainforests.

Tour duration and itineraries can be designed to suit individual requirements and menu options are available on request at our restaurant facilities which has a maximum capacity of 500 pax.

Amphibious Army Duck Rainforest Tour

Discover the secrets of the rainforest in an amphibious Army Duck! Informative “Duck” Drivers share their valuable knowledge and sense of humour during a tour through the rainforest.

Duration: Allow 45 Minutes.

Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience

Join your Pamagirri guide on a Dreamtime Walk and learn how to throw a boomerang; play the didgeridoo and watch a spear throwing demonstration. Then enjoy a traditional Aboriginal dance performance in the rainforest amphitheatre.

Duration: 30 minutes for the Show and 30 minutes for the Dreamtime Walk.

Koala & Wildlife Park

Learn all about our native Australian animals in an interactive tour of the wildlife park with a friendly wildlife keeper. Hand feed the kangaroos, see the endangered Cassowary or Lumholtz’s Tree Kangaroo and see our giant crocodile Jack the Ripper.

Duration: Allow 40 minutes.

Tree Planting

A fun and rewarding way for guests to learn about forest conservation. Each student is presented with a certificate of appreciation and a commemorative plaque for each school is placed on our Honour Board.

Duration: Allow 1 hour and note this activity must be done in conjunction with the Army Duck tour.

Rainforest Walkabout

The Rainforest Walkabout walk takes place in and around the grounds of Rainforestation Nature Park and provides a unique insight into Aboriginal Culture.

Join a Pamagirri Aboriginal Guide for an in-depth, interactive experience exploring Indigenous Culture and its connection to the rainforest. Learn about traditions including transitions into manhood, totems, body painting, fruits used as medicine and more.

The Rainforest walkabout is suitable for people of all ages, however it is through the rainforest and there are steps involved in the walks so sturdy shoes are recommended.

Duration: Allow 45 minutes

Aboriginal Art Workshop

Enjoy a group lesson with a Pamagirri Artist to learn about painting techniques, storytelling and traditions. Each guest will create their own mini canvas of Aboriginal style artwork or transform plain boomerangs into unique pieces of art (guest’s choice). All canvases and painted boomerangs can be taken home on the day.

Duration: Allow 30 minutes

Tropical Fruit Tasting

Taste a selection of seasonal tropic and exotic fruit- 1 skewer per person. (Seasonal- subject to availability)

Duration: Allow 15-20 minutes

Eco Sustainability Tour

The Behind The Scenes Tour provides you with a first-hand look at the eco-efficient initiatives in place at Rainforestation including the vermiculture (worm farm) and bio cycle waste treatment plant.

The Behind-the-Scenes Tour with a Wildlife Guide is available for pre-booked groups.

This in-depth wildlife encounter includes:

  • Visit koala & leaf preparation areas
  • Learn about breeding and conservation programs and how our animals are cared for.
  • Enter a koala enclosure and get up close to our koalas
  • Pat this Australian icon and learn more about koalas
  • Snake holding option also available (subject to availability)
