Cairns Community Support

Rainforestation Nature Park and the other businesses that form the CaPTA Group (CaPTA), have a strong presence in the tourism industry in North Queensland, however our commitment to the region extends beyond tours and attractions.

CaPTA is a strong supporter of the local community and proactive in providing support through sponsorship of schools, the arts, as well as various sporting, community and industry groups.

Further support of the local community is provided by CaPTA through regular participation in community fundraisers, providing donations to various organisations such as the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal and the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal.

Our staff members are encouraged to participate in activities that support the community so that we can make a positive difference to where we live and work.

COUCH (Cairns Organisation United For Cancer Health) is a community focused charity, which was started by Charles and Pip Woodward in 2006, and is dedicated to improving health care services for people living with cancer in Cairns and the Far North.

In 2009, the charity was instrumental in establishing the Liz Plummer Cancer Care Centre and providing radiation oncology services to Cairns. Charles and Pip Woodward realised that the oncology services were just one step in improving local cancer services and realised their vision for a cancer wellness centre to be established in Cairns.

Incredibly, the $3 million dollar COUCH Wellness Centre opened on land donated by the Woodward family in 2019 thanks to Federal Government investments and the generosity of local businesses and charity.

COUCH continues to raise funds and advocate for better health services in Cairns and the Far North. To find out more about COUCH visit the website at
