  • A Waste Water Treatment Facility.
  • Self Sufficient Water Supply.
  • A Tree Planting Educational Programme.
  • A Worm Farm vermiculture facility.
  • Organic Fruit & Vegetable produce.

  • Rainforestation Nature Park has established a very strong and credible reputation over the past 33 years as a leading tourist attraction with a strong focus on Ecotourism and Sustainability. As keen conservationists and pioneers of the Tourism industry in Tropical North Queensland, Charlie and Pip Woodward recognize that Ecotourism is a form of tourism which aims to include and benefit local communities as well as protecting the environment. Rainforestation Nature Park has blended these ideas together to create their own unique form of attraction

    Did you know...

All 12 Army Ducks at Rainforestation have undergone a fuel conversion from petrol    to LP Gas, a much cleaner fuel. It’s the greener way to go!

Fresh produce grown on site is used on the daily lunch buffet. Seasonal tropical and    exotic fruit is also availble for purchase, picked fresh from the orchard

Eucalyptus leaves for our koala colony are grown on a plantation at Lotus Glen Prison and farmed by the prisioners as part of a rehabilitation project. The leftover koala leaf is then recycled and mulched for the gardens at Rainforestation.

Environmental Commitments in place at Rainforestation.

Biocycle Waste Treatment Plant uses controlled natural processes to purify wastewater for  recycling. Rainforestation Nature Park is 100% self-sufficient in water sustainability

Tree Planting is an on-going program embarked upon by  schools,  corporate and community groups from around the globe. A name plaque for each group is mounted on an Honour Board in appreciation of this contribution

Established vermiculture ‘worm farm’ to reduce the amount of garbage going into landfills  while returning vital organic material to the soil

Oil Separator is used to separate oil from water each time the workshop floor is washed. This ensures that only water passes through our drains. The oil is stored in separate drums for collection and recycling.
